Key Passage: Nehemiah 8:10 – “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Message:
Joy and happiness are not the same. Happiness is based on circumstances; joy is rooted in the unchanging nature of God. In Nehemiah’s time, the people were grieving, yet God called them to rejoice.
Why? Because His joy strengthens us. It lifts our spirits, revives our hope, and fuels our faith. Joy in God is not denial of pain—it’s a declaration that our God is greater than our pain.
When we fix our eyes on Jesus, joy becomes our strength—even in sorrow. It reminds us that we are loved, that God is at work, and that the best is yet to come.
Application:
Take time to rejoice in God today. Sing a worship song, write a gratitude list, or share joy with someone else. Choose joy, and let it strengthen you.
Prayer:
God, fill me with Your joy. Help me to remember that my strength comes from You. No matter my situation, I will rejoice in You. Amen.
