The Ascension of Jesus: Meaning, Scripture, and Hope

The Ascended Christ

Key Passage: Acts 1:9-11 – “After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight… ‘This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.'”

Message:
After His resurrection, Jesus ascended to heaven. He didn’t just disappear—He was taken up in glory to sit at the Father’s right hand. From there, He rules and reigns over all creation.

The ascension completes Christ’s earthly ministry and begins His heavenly intercession. Right now, Jesus is advocating for you before the Father. He is preparing a place for you. He is ruling with all authority.

And He’s coming back. The same Jesus who rose, the same Jesus who ascended, will return in glory. This is our hope and our expectation.

Application:
Take comfort that Jesus is interceding for you right now in heaven. He hasn’t forgotten you—He’s actively advocating on your behalf.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You are seated at the Father’s right hand. Thank You for interceding for me. I look forward to the day You return. Maranatha—come, Lord Jesus! Amen.
